This project dives into the mysterious world of the colossal squid, exploring the science, history, and discoveries surrounding these extraordinary deep-sea animals.

I led this project from the ground up, writing the script, developing the visual narrative, and creating all design and animation for the piece. I built a visual language rooted in bold graphic shapes, cinematic color blocking, and tactile grain textures to capture the feeling of exploring an unknown underwater world. The result was a visual system that balanced scientific accuracy with a sense of wonder and discovery.

This was a collaborative production with OceanX’s media team, who filmed and edited the live-action portions of the story. By combining documentary footage with expressive animation, we created a seamless experience that brought the hidden world of the deep ocean closer to audiences.
